The Practice

Every body is rich in resources and limitations; intelligence and dullness, pleasure and pain, freedom and restriction, strength and flexibility. Bodies are also often shocked, tired, over- or under-used and consequently detached from awareness. The mind and body can become disengaged and cease to thrive in union.

This yoga class provides the space and practice to explore the inner world of sensation and perception. Through attention to the body’s intelligence, you nurture your natural resources and allow muscular and mental gripping that you no longer need to gradually fall away. Relaxation follows as a result and connections are re-established in dull parts of the body mind.

I teach in the hatha yoga tradition drawing on the yogic practices of asana, breathwork, concentration and meditation. All ages and abilities are welcome.  Practitioners in their first trimester of pregnancy should not practice. Please contact me directly if you have questions about the therapeutic effects of yoga for a particular injury or limitation.

These classes are a great support to any psychotherapeutic process as they deepen awareness of the body mind, providing rapid access to unconscious contents of the psyche.
