A rice farmer wishing to reap a healthy, rewarding crop invests his efforts in the foundations and conditions of his field. He considers every inch of his field. He understands the flat-bottomed pan he diligently prepares, he knows the soil, seed and seasons. He understands what is likely to grow and how. Over time he comes to know what nourishes the soil, what depletes it and how conditions effect his crop. He learns to skillfully respond, to arduously persevere, to patiently attend. His farming is less what he does and more who he is.
We can choose to approach our own nature and life as attentively as the farmer approaches his field. We can pay ourselves the careful attention that we long for.
My practice is oriented towards the exploration of your nature and your experience of life.
